This August, I’m delighted to return to Mimico Square for two free outdoor concerts by the lake!

Each Sunday has its own personality. First, we’ll explore the music, stories, glamour, and glorious drama behind What Makes a Diva. The following week, the audience gets in on the action during a joyful Summer Sing-Along filled with Disney favourites, music from The Sound of Music, and free ice cream.

Both concerts are relaxed, welcoming, and designed for all ages. Bring a chair or picnic blanket, settle in by the water, and enjoy an afternoon of live music in the heart of Mimico.

WHAT MAKES A DIVA

What makes a diva?

Is it a spectacular high note? A fabulous entrance? A flair for drama? Or is it the ability to tell a story that makes an audience laugh, ache, and fall completely under her spell?

Through opera favourites, Broadway hits, and lively storytelling, What Makes a Diva explores the many sides of the women who command the stage. Expect bold heroines, romantic dreamers, comic troublemakers, and more than a little theatrical flair.

I’ll be joined by special guest artists Joanna McTaggart and Ashley Moniz for an afternoon filled with wonderful music, memorable characters, and plenty of heart.

SUMMER SING-ALONG

The following Sunday, it’s your turn to sing!

Bring the whole family and join us for favourite songs from Disney and The Sound of Music. An online lyrics page will make it easy to follow along and sing right from your seat.

Whether you know every word or plan to cheerfully invent a few, everyone is welcome. Enthusiasm is considerably more important than perfect pitch.

Special guest Joanna McTaggart returns to join me for this playful, family-friendly afternoon of music.

And because singing is hungry work, there will also be free ice cream, generously sponsored by Nando Tullo / Desjardins Insurance and Ed’s Real Scoop.
